“13 Things That Don’t Make Sense” is an extremely useful and insightful book and invites us to raise our horizons and look at these subjects in innovative new ways. In particular, the chapter on “free will” causes us to look much more closely at the system functions of different parts of the brain and the timing and sequencing of events and actions. The chapter on the definition of ‘Life’ is equally thought provoking. If we could understand more about what actually constitutes ‘life’ we would discover more about similar conundrums like precisely what is ‘consciousness’, and in the process learn more about both. A ‘must read’ for everyone interested in the frontiers of science and the likely developments of the next few decades.
